I was in California recently photographing surfers. I especially liked this photograph but I wanted to push it beyond the processing that I normally might do with this image. I have also started shooting my old cameras digitally by building special backs for them. This image is a combination of techniques that I have been working with. Purposely it has a very vintage camera feel to it by leaving the dirt on the “film”.
We are in the process of updating the website – check it out, www.TOMHUSSEY.com, lots of new work and more to come.
I spent the past weekend in Southern California shooting new work for my portfolio. It was a great weekend. I had a great crew helping to make the magic happen. After a flight delay we returned to Dallas at 3 a.m. this morning. Looking through the resulting images, I realize how beneficial it can be to step away from the usual and spend 36 hours creating in a new location.
