Yep, it’s Monday. We’re doing the post production/pre-production shuffle here at the studio today. This image is one in a series of Jim. He works in a cube as an accountant. He has a red coffee mug. It makes him happy. Everyone should have something in their life that makes them happy.

As a photographer, the more you shoot, the more there is to manage. In the past month I have been shooting a lot. A lot for work and a lot for myself. I enjoy the challenge of a new project. More and more I am asked to come in earlier on the concept stage of projects to bring in my ideas on how to shoot a campaign. Working with creatives on how to produce a project with more impact than ever before is exciting. There is a lot to look forward to in the second half of 2010 – let’s make it great.

We had a fabulous holiday. Last week I received the new Nikon D3s via UPS from Nikon so that I could take it for a for a test run over the 4th of July holiday. It shoots stills, it shoots video and it is impressive! In the next few days I will be posting some images shot with the new camera as well as some video. The detail in the stills is fantastic. The 4th of July is a special holiday to me. I have always been a history buff. I love the history of World War II. When I was in Rochester, NY studying for my Masters at R.I.T. my thesis was a photography book that I published about the veterans of Vietnam. It took time to get to know the people. To get to know how their sacrifices changed their lives. For their country. For you and me. This weekend, I will take some time to think about those that sacrificed so much so that we can enjoy all that we have. Happy 4th of July everyone.

It’s been summer for about a week now. We have been lucky to be shooting indoors recently. Today’s high will only be in the low 90′s but oh the humidity.
