From the monthly archives: August 2011

An iHussey is an image I have made with my iPhone or some alternate means of photography that is non-traditional.  We have had such a great response from the images featured on the blog that we’ve made a whole section on the new website featuring them.  They are more “arty” and more fun, mostly found moments captured quickly. The two images captured above are from the Hipstamatic app.  You can see the whole collection on the new website, http://bit.ly/pjJofZ.  We’d love to hear your thoughts and see what you are shooting too.

The new website is live. We are working on a few small tweaks today and we are excited that it is all finished. Take a look. Let us know what you think.  www.TOMHUSSEY.com

As a creative person, I look for inspiration everywhere. A few weeks ago, it was decided that we needed more than just photography hanging in the studio. I love and am inspired by the work of painter Diane Carl. She has graciously loaned us four of her beautiful paintings to hang in the studio.

Diane as a person is as wonderful as her paintings. You can learn more about her and see more of her work on her website, www.DianeCarl.com. You are also invited to stop by the studio and see the work in person. You’ll be glad that you did.

We’ve recently updated the blog – we have shot a few jobs AND we are in the process of completely redoing the website. The new site is set to go live by tomorrow. We have added more motion, a whole slew of new images, and even added a section for iHussey images at the requests of the people that follow the blog and have become true fans of the magic that is made with iPhone camera apps. We will not rest until it’s perfect for the launch tomorrow. Stay tuned and wish us luck.

On a recent trip to North Carolina, I found these statues in a parking lot.  The gorgeous red background and what remained of the sculpture caught my eye.  A happy accident along the way.

I have just returned from shooting a really fun job in San Antonio. The client was enthusiastic, the creative team was great to work with and the crew was amazing. We laughed a lot and tried to stay cool in the heat. We never did get nap time but we did make some awesome pictures.
