An Underwater Shoot in Today’s World
When I was younger, my Dad used to say to me, “you kids don’t know how easy you’ve got it”. I used to wonder what he meant. I am not old. But I am one of the guys that used to shoot film. My very first underwater job was before digital cameras. I’ll never forget being on location and coming up with my camera and having the Art Director ask if it was going to be possible to see a Polaroid. At that time, there was not anyway to make it happen. We both laughed about it. Recently, I have been shooting underwater and it is so different with a digital camera. So immediate. You can make sure that you have the shot before the talent leaves set. At the risk of sounding old, I am going to say it, “you kids don’t know how easy you’ve got it”. Now I am going to go and call my Dad.
